What is hexennacht?

Hexennacht, also known as Walpurgisnacht, is a traditional German festival celebrated on the night of April 30th and into May 1st. The name translates to "Witches' Night" and is believed to be a time when witches gather to celebrate as winter turns to spring.

During Hexennacht, bonfires are lit, dancing and singing often take place, and traditional rituals are performed to ward off evil spirits and welcome the warmth of spring. It is a time to celebrate the changing of the seasons and the renewal of life.

In modern times, Hexennacht is often celebrated with costume parties, parades, and other festive events. It is a time for people to come together and celebrate the beauty of nature and the magic of the changing seasons.
