Here's how to accurately measure your waist:
Preparation: Stand up straight and relax. It's best to wear thin clothing or remove your shirt entirely for the most accurate measurement.
Locate Your Natural Waist: Find the uppermost part of your hip bones and the base of your rib cage. Your natural waist is usually located about halfway between these points. It's often the narrowest part of your torso.
Position the Measuring Tape: Hold the end of the measuring tape at your navel. Bring the tape around your back to meet the end of the tape in front of your navel. Make sure the tape is parallel to the floor all the way around. Avoid twisting or tilting the tape.
Ensure a Snug Fit: The tape measure should be snug, but not so tight that it's digging into your skin. You should be able to slide a finger or two comfortably under the tape.
Breathe Normally: Don't hold your breath or suck in your stomach. Breathe normally and take the measurement at the end of a normal exhalation.
Read the Measurement: Look at the point on the tape measure where the zero end meets the rest of the tape. This is your waist measurement.
Record the Measurement: Write down the measurement in inches or centimeters, depending on your preference. It's helpful to take the measurement a few times to ensure accuracy.
