What is hwatu?

Hwatu, also known as Go-Stop, is a popular card game in South Korea. The game is typically played with a deck of Korean playing cards known as Hwatu cards, which are made up of twelve suits, each representing a month of the year.

The objective of Hwatu is to score points by collecting specific card combinations, such as matching cards of the same month or capturing certain cards that are worth additional points. Players can also earn points by capturing cards that form specific combinations, such as the "Ten Brights" or "Five Animals".

Hwatu is a game that requires both luck and strategy, as players must carefully plan their moves and anticipate their opponents' actions in order to win. The game is often played in social settings, such as family gatherings or traditional Korean holidays, and is enjoyed by people of all ages.
