What is in-line?

In-line refers to a method of formatting text or graphics in a document or web page where the content is inserted directly in the text flow, rather than as a separate block or element. In-line elements may include images, hyperlinks, videos, audio, or other multimedia content that is integrated into the surrounding text. This can be contrasted with block-level elements, which are separate from the text and typically start on a new line. In-line formatting is commonly used in HTML and CSS for web design, as well as in word processing programs such as Microsoft Word. In-line content may be styled using CSS to control its appearance, such as font size, color, or spacing.
