What is insatiable?

Insatiable is a Netflix original series that premiered in August 2018. It is a dark comedy-drama created by Lauren Gussis, and stars Debby Ryan, Dallas Roberts, and Alyssa Milano. The show follows the story of Patty Bladell (played by Debby Ryan), a high school student who has been bullied for her weight for years. After an incident leaves her with a broken jaw, she is forced to eat only liquids for a few months, and as a result, loses a significant amount of weight. She then becomes obsessed with getting revenge on her former bullies and enters the world of beauty pageants with the help of her pageant coach, Bob (played by Dallas Roberts). The show has been praised for its dark humor and the way it tackles issues of body image, beauty standards, and the toxic culture surrounding beauty pageants. However, it has also been criticized for its portrayal of fat-shaming and the overall message it sends about body image. Despite the mixed reviews, the show was renewed for a second season which premiered in October 2019.
