What is iridectome?

Iridectomy is a surgical procedure that removes a portion of the iris, the colored part of the eye, to create a small opening. This opening allows fluid to flow more freely through the eye, reducing pressure and helping to treat conditions such as glaucoma. The procedure is typically performed using a laser or surgical instruments, and is usually done in an outpatient setting. Common side effects include temporary blurred vision, redness, and sensitivity to light. Rare but serious complications may include infection, bleeding, or vision loss.
