What is isoceles?

An isosceles triangle is a type of triangle that has two sides of equal length. The two angles opposite the equal sides are also equal in size. The third side, known as the base, may be of a different length than the other two sides.

Isosceles triangles have several properties, such as the perpendicular bisector of the base also bisecting the vertex angle, the base angles being equal in size, and the altitude from the vertex angle bisecting the base and being perpendicular to it.

The area of an isosceles triangle can be calculated using the formula: Area = (base * height) / 2. The perimeter of an isosceles triangle can be calculated by adding the lengths of all three sides together.

Isosceles triangles are commonly encountered in geometry and trigonometry problems and have many practical applications in fields such as architecture, engineering, and physics.
