What is jawning?

Yawning is an involuntary action of opening one's mouth wide and inhaling deeply due to tiredness or boredom. However, it can also occur due to various other reasons such as stress, anxiety, fatigue, hunger, and even empathy when someone else around us yawns. Yawning helps in regulating the body temperature and providing more oxygen to the brain. Some studies suggest that excessive yawning can signify an underlying medical condition such as sleep disorders, neurological disorders, or even depression.
