What is jellicles?

Jellicles are a fictional breed of cats created by author T.S. Eliot in his book "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats." They are known for their distinctive black and white markings, and are said to resemble Siamese cats in appearance. In Eliot's book, the Jellicle Cats are a tribe of cats who gather together for a special celebration once a year called the Jellicle Ball. At this event, the Jellicle leader Old Deuteronomy chooses one cat to ascend to the Heaviside Layer and begin a new life. The concept of the Jellicles has since been adapted for various stage productions, including the popular musical "Cats."
