What is jirafa?

The jirafa, or giraffe, is a type of mammal native to Africa. They are the tallest land animals on Earth, with long necks and legs. Giraffes are herbivores, feeding primarily on leaves from the tops of trees. They have unique spotted patterns on their coats, which help to camouflage them in their natural habitats.

Giraffes are social animals and typically live in groups called towers. They have a complex communication system, using vocalizations, body language, and even infrasound to communicate with each other. Males compete for dominance by engaging in necking, a behavior where they use their long necks to swing their heads at each other.

Giraffes are currently listed as vulnerable to extinction due to habitat loss and poaching. Conservation efforts are underway to protect these iconic animals and their habitats.
