Kaisarion, also known as Ptolemy Philopator Philometor Caesar, was the son of Cleopatra VII of Egypt and Julius Caesar, the Roman general and statesman. He was born in 47 BC, shortly before the assassination of Julius Caesar. Kaisarion was believed to be Caesar's only biological son, and he was named as Cleopatra's co-ruler of Egypt. However, after the defeat of Cleopatra and Mark Antony in the Battle of Actium in 31 BC, Kaisarion's fate became uncertain.
Following Cleopatra's suicide in 30 BC, Kaisarion's life was in danger as he was seen as a potential rival to Caesar Augustus, the new Roman Emperor. Kaisarion was captured and eventually killed by Augustus' forces in 30 BC, ending the bloodline of Julius Caesar and Cleopatra. His death marked the end of the Ptolemaic dynasty in Egypt and solidified Augustus' control over the Roman Empire.
