What is kameleons?

Chameleons are a type of lizard known for their unique ability to change color to match their surroundings. There are around 160 species of chameleons, most of which are found in Africa. Chameleons are characterized by their long, sticky tongues and independently moving eyes, which allow them to have a 360-degree view of their surroundings. They have prehensile tails that they use to grasp branches and climb trees. Chameleons are also known for their slow movements, and they often stay still for long periods to avoid being detected by predators. They are mainly insectivorous, feeding on insects such as crickets, grasshoppers, and cockroaches. Some larger species may also eat small birds and reptiles. Chameleons are popular as pets but require specialized care and attention, including the provision of an appropriate diet, enclosure, and lighting.
