What is kapybaras?

Capybaras are the largest rodents in the world, native to South America. They have webbed feet and large, blunt snouts. They are semi-aquatic and spend a lot of time in water to keep cool and avoid predators. They are social animals and live in groups of up to 20 individuals. They have short, dense fur that is brownish-gray in color, and they can weigh up to 140 pounds. They mainly eat grasses and aquatic plants but also sometimes feed on bark and fruit. Capybaras have become popular pets in some areas, but owning them can be illegal or require a special permit in many countries. They are valued for their meat and fur in some cultures and are considered a staple food source for some indigenous communities. Capybaras have no known predators, but they are sometimes hunted by humans for their meat and skins.
