The region is also renowned for its notable sons and daughters, including Chinua Achebe, a renowned author, and former Vice President of Nigeria, Alex Ekwueme.
Agriculture is a major economic activity in Kedu, with crops such as cassava, yams, and maize grown in large quantities. The region also has significant tourism potential due to its cultural and historical attractions.
