What is klasselotteri?

Klasselotteri is a type of lottery game that has been popular in Denmark since the 18th century. It operates under the supervision of the Danish Ministry of Taxation and is primarily run by the Danish Red Cross.

Players purchase a "lod" (ticket) with a unique number, which is then entered into a lottery drawing. The lottery is typically held quarterly, with the winning numbers being drawn in public.

Klasselotteri is unique in that it uses a "class" system, where each ticket is assigned to a particular class. Each quarter, several classes are drawn, with the top prizes being awarded to the winning tickets in those classes.

The proceeds from Klasselotteri go towards various charitable causes, including disaster relief, healthcare, and education. Participating in Klasselotteri can therefore be seen as a way to support these causes while also having the chance to win significant prizes.
