The community is named after Lady Trollope, the wife of a British governor who visited the area in the early 19th century. The community has a range of small businesses, shops, restaurants, and bars, making it a popular spot for tourists and locals. It is also home to the Philip Goldson International Airport, the main international airport serving the country.
