What is langobards?

The Langobards, also known as the Lombards, were a Germanic people who lived in northern Europe during the early Middle Ages. They originated in Scandinavia and migrated southwards to eventually settle in what is now Italy. The Langobards established a powerful kingdom that lasted from the 6th to the 8th century, and they played an important role in the political and cultural development of Europe during this period.

The Langobards were skilled warriors and their military prowess enabled them to conquer and rule over large areas of Europe. They were also skilled metalworkers and craftsmen, and their artifacts and jewelry are highly prized by collectors today. The Langobards are also known for their legal system, which was codified in a written law known as the Lombard Laws.

After the collapse of their kingdom in the 8th century, many Langobards migrated to other parts of Europe, where they assimilated into the local population. Today, their legacy can be seen in the architecture, culture, and traditions of Italy and other parts of Europe.
