What is lawende?

Lawende (Lavandula angustifolia) is a species of flowering plant in the Lamiaceae family, native to the western Mediterranean region. It is a small shrub that typically grows up to 60cm tall with narrow, grey-green leaves and spikes of fragrant blue-purple flowers. Lawende has been used for centuries for its medicinal and culinary properties, as well as for perfumes and aromatherapy. It is commonly used in aromatherapy to promote relaxation, relieve stress and anxiety. In cooking, the flowers can be used to add flavor to dishes such as ice cream, baked goods and sauces. Lawende oil is also used in skincare products for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties.
