What is leant?

Lean is a management philosophy and methodology that seeks to systematically eliminate waste from processes in order to save resources and increase value for the customer. Developed initially by Toyota, lean is now used in a range of industries as a way to improve quality, reduce lead times, and increase efficiency. Key principles of lean include continuous improvement, respect for people, and a focus on creating value for the customer. To achieve these aims, lean practitioners use tools such as value stream mapping, 5S workplace organization, standard work, and visual management. The ultimate goal of lean is to create a culture of continuous improvement within an organization, where all employees are engaged in identifying and eliminating waste to improve overall performance.
