What is limpwristing?

Limpwristing refers to a phenomenon where a shooter fails to maintain a firm grip on a firearm, particularly while shooting pistols or handguns. This causes the wrist to bend and the recoil of the firearm to travel through the wrist into the forearm and elbow, causing the shooter to lose control of the weapon.

Limpwristing is particularly common among beginner shooters, but experienced shooters may also experience it if they are shooting an unfamiliar firearm or trying to shoot one-handed. The problem can be exacerbated by a too-light recoil spring or insufficient grip strength.

Overcoming limp wrist syndrome may involve strengthening one's grip, using a proper shooting technique, adjusting the firearm's recoil or grip, or using an alternative firearm. It is essential to address the issue to improve accuracy and prevent injury.
