What is lorcin?

Lorcin Engineering was an American firearms manufacturer that operated from 1989 to 1999. The company was founded by James Waldorf, who aimed to produce affordable handguns for the civilian market.

Lorcin gained a reputation for producing inexpensive, low-quality firearms that were often criticized for their poor build quality and reliability issues. Despite this, their handguns were popular due to their affordability, especially among budget-conscious gun owners.

Some of Lorcin's most well-known handguns include the Lorcin L-25, L-380, and L-9mm, which were all compact, semi-automatic pistols chambered in various calibers.

In 1999, Lorcin Engineering filed for bankruptcy and ceased operations, largely due to a series of lawsuits related to the safety and quality of their firearms. Today, Lorcin firearms are no longer in production, but some models can still be found on the secondary market.
