What is marinite?

Marinite is a type of fire-resistant board used in high-temperature applications. It is a composite material made of cement, asbestos fibers, and other fillers. Marinite has excellent thermal properties, and it can withstand temperatures up to 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit. Due to its high strength and durability, it is commonly used in industrial applications such as in furnace linings, kiln hot faces, and thermal insulation. However, marinite can be hazardous if the asbestos fibers become disturbed and released into the air, as they can cause serious respiratory health problems. For this reason, its use has been restricted in many countries, and alternative non-asbestos products are now available.
