What is megavideo?

Megavideo was a popular online video-sharing platform that was launched in 2005. The website allowed users to upload and share videos with others, making it accessible to a worldwide audience. Megavideo offered free and paid membership options, with paid membership offering faster downloads and fewer restrictions on viewing times. However, Megavideo was shut down in early 2012 due to legal issues surrounding copyright infringement and piracy concerns. The company behind Megavideo, Megaupload, also faced charges from the US Department of Justice for facilitating copyright infringement and money laundering. As a result, the website was permanently shut down and its founders were arrested.
