Middenbeemster is a town located in the province of North Holland in the Netherlands. It is part of the municipality of Beemster. The town is known for its well-preserved historical center, which was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. Middenbeemster has approximately 3,100 inhabitants and is surrounded by agricultural lands. The town has several notable landmarks, including the 17th-century windmill 'De Nachtegaal', the medieval church 'St. Nicolaas', and the 'Museum Betje Wolff', which gives insight into the life of 18th-century Dutch writer Elizabeth Wolff-Bekker.
