What is moded?

Moded, in the context of video games, particularly within the Minecraft community, typically refers to a version of the game that has been altered or enhanced by the addition of modifications, or "mods". These mods are created by independent developers and can range from simple cosmetic changes to extensive overhauls of the game's mechanics, adding new items, creatures, biomes, gameplay features, and even entirely new game modes.

A "modded" game experience signifies that the vanilla, or original, version of the game has been changed through user-created content. This allows players to customize their gaming experience to a much greater extent than what is possible within the base game. Installation is often accomplished with third-party software like Forge for Minecraft. Modded games may also encounter Compatibility%20Issues when using multiple mods simultaneously.
