What is molepolole?

Molepolole is a small town in central Botswana, located about 50 kilometers west of the capital city, Gaborone. It is the administrative center of the Kweneng District and has a population of around 65,000 people.

The town is known for its rich cultural heritage and historic significance as the site of the oldest known human settlements in Botswana. The Bakwena people, who are one of Botswana's largest ethnic groups, are also said to have originated from Molepolole.

Molepolole has a number of tourist attractions, including the Phuthadikobo Museum, which showcases the history and culture of the Bakwena people, and the Mantshwabisi and Tashyane Game Reserves, which offer opportunities for wildlife viewing and outdoor recreation.

The economy of Molepolole is predominantly based on agriculture, with cattle ranching being a major industry. The town also has a number of government offices, schools, and health facilities, as well as small businesses and retail stores.
