What is monchichi?

Monchichi is a line of small stuffed monkeys produced by the Japanese company Sekiguchi. The name "Monchichi" comes from a combination of the French words "mon" (meaning "my") and "chichi" (meaning "little darling"). The first Monchichi dolls were released in Japan in 1974 and later introduced to the United States in 1979.

Monchichi dolls are characterized by their soft bodies, long arms, and big eyes. They typically come with a pacifier in their mouth and a little red bow on top of their heads. The dolls are known for their cute and cuddly appearance, which has made them a popular toy for children around the world.

Over the years, different variations of Monchichi dolls have been released, including different sizes, outfits, and accessories. The dolls have also appeared in various TV shows and movies, further increasing their popularity.

Despite being around for several decades, Monchichi dolls continue to be beloved by collectors and fans of vintage toys.
