The MP41, also known as the MP41/44, was a German submachine gun developed during World War II. It was based on the MP40, with the primary difference being the use of a wooden buttstock instead of the metal folding stock found on the MP40.
The MP41 was produced in limited numbers and saw very little use on the battlefield. It was primarily issued to the German police force and some elite units such as the Waffen-SS. The wooden buttstock was more comfortable for extended use compared to the metal folding stock of the MP40.
Despite its limited production and use, the MP41 is a sought-after collector's item today due to its rarity and unique design. It is often confused with the even rarer MP41(r), which was a modified version of the Soviet PPSh-41 submachine gun used by German forces during World War II.
