What is mulukhia?

Mulukhia is a leafy green vegetable popular in Egyptian, Middle Eastern, and North African cuisine. It is also known as jute leaves or Jews mallow. The leaves are rich in vitamins and minerals such as iron, calcium, vitamin C, and vitamin A. They have a slimy texture when cooked, which some people find off-putting, while others enjoy it. Mulukhia is often used to make a soup or stew with either chicken, beef or lamb. In Egypt, it is considered a national dish and is often served with rice and bread. In some countries, it is also used as a medicinal herb to treat various ailments such as constipation, high blood pressure, and diabetes. It can be a delicious and nutritious addition to any diet.
