What is neogeo?

Neo Geo is a video game console and arcade system created by SNK Corporation in 1990. It was popular in the 1990s for its arcade-quality graphics and sound, as well as for its library of fighting games and arcade classics.

The Neo Geo hardware consisted of a large arcade system board that could accommodate multiple games, and a smaller home console, the Neo Geo AES (Advanced Entertainment System). The AES was notable for its high price point, as it was marketed as a luxury item.

The Neo Geo's library included popular games such as Metal Slug, King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, and Fatal Fury. The system also had a cult following among fighting game enthusiasts, as it was known for its robust and complex fighting games.

While the Neo Geo's popularity waned in the late 1990s, it still maintains a passionate fan base to this day. Many of its games have been re-released on modern consoles, and the Neo Geo brand has been revived in recent years with the release of the Neo Geo Mini, a miniature console that comes loaded with classic Neo Geo games.
