NIBP stands for Non-Invasive Blood Pressure, and refers to a way of measuring blood pressure without the need to insert a needle or catheter into the patient's blood vessels.
NIBP measurements are typically taken with a cuff wrapped around the patient's arm or leg, and connected to a monitor that inflates and deflates the cuff to measure the pressure in the arteries. The monitor displays the systolic (top number) and diastolic (bottom number) blood pressure readings, as well as the patient's heart rate.
NIBP monitoring is commonly used in hospitals, clinics, and ambulances to continuously track a patient's blood pressure during surgery, emergency situations, and other medical procedures. It is a quick, safe, and painless way to assess a patient's cardiovascular health and response to treatment.
