OGLE-2011-BLG-0462 is a microlensing event that occurred on May 17, 2011. It was discovered by the Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment (OGLE) and confirmed by the Microlensing Observations in Astrophysics (MOA) collaboration. The event lasted for approximately 70 days and was caused by a lensing object that is estimated to have a mass between 10 and 100 times that of Jupiter. The source star was located in the Galactic bulge, approximately 26,000 light-years away from Earth. OGLE-2011-BLG-0462 is an example of how gravitational lensing can be used to study and detect objects that would otherwise be difficult to detect.
