What is olts?

OLTs (Optical Line Terminals) are devices that are used in Passive Optical Networks (PONs) to transmit and receive data over fiber optic cables. They are typically located at the service provider's central office and provide the interface between the optical fiber network and the service provider's core network.

OLTs perform several functions such as splitting the optical signal to multiple ONU (Optical Network Unit) units, monitoring the performance of the network, and providing power to the ONUs. They typically support multiple PON protocols such as GPON, EPON, and XGPON.

OLTs are designed with high reliability, availability, and scalability to meet the demands of modern high-speed networks. They are also equipped with sophisticated management tools to enable network operators to monitor and control the network remotely, ensuring high-quality service delivery to end-users.

In summary, OLTs are critical components of PONs, providing the interface between the optical fiber network and the service provider's core network and enabling the delivery of high-speed, high-quality internet and communication services to end-users.
