What is onpremises?

On-premises refers to software or systems that are installed and operated on the premises of the organization, rather than in a cloud environment. This includes hardware and software that are physically located in the organization's premises, giving the organization more control over data security, customization, and integration. On-premises solutions are typically installed on dedicated servers and require a dedicated IT team to manage and maintain them. The advantages of on-premises solutions are that they offer greater control and security, and may be more cost-effective for organizations with greater utilization of IT resources. However, on-premises solutions require greater upfront investment, may require more IT resources, and may be less flexible than cloud-based solutions.
