What is oraflex?

Oraflex is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the relief of arthritis pain in the 1970s. Its active ingredient is benoxaprofen.

Oraflex has been associated with serious adverse effects, including liver toxicity and severe skin reactions. Due to these safety concerns, the FDA removed it from the U.S. market in 1982. It is still available in some countries for use in treating pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis and other conditions, but with strict restrictions and warnings regarding its potential risks.

Overall, Oraflex is no longer a commonly used medication due to its risk-benefit profile. Other NSAIDs and pain relievers are typically recommended instead.
