Orcet is a combination medication that contains two active ingredients: propoxyphene and aspirin. Propoxyphene is a narcotic pain reliever, while aspirin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that also has analgesic properties. Orcet is primarily used to relieve mild to moderate pain, and it works by blocking the transmission of pain signals to the brain. However, propoxyphene can be addictive and has been associated with serious side effects such as overdose and cardiac toxicity. Due to these risks, the drug was withdrawn from the market in 2010 in the United States and is no longer available.
