What is ornitorrinco?

The ornitorrinco, also known as the platypus, is a semi-aquatic mammal native to eastern Australia, including Tasmania. It has a unique appearance with a broad, flat tail, webbed feet, and a bill resembling that of a duck, which it uses to locate prey in the water. The ornitorrinco is one of only a few species of mammals that lay eggs instead of giving birth to live young. It feeds on insects, crustaceans, and small fish, and spends much of its time in the water. The ornitorrinco is considered a vulnerable species due to habitat loss and hunting pressures in some regions.
