What is paci?

Paci, also known as a pacifier or a dummy, is a rubber or plastic teat-like object that is given to infants to help soothe them. It is designed to mimic the shape and softness of a mother's nipple and is meant to satisfy the baby's natural sucking instinct. Pacifiers come in various shapes and sizes and are available in different materials, including silicone, latex, and rubber. While pacifiers can be a helpful tool in calming and comforting babies, they should be used in moderation and should not be relied upon too heavily as they can interfere with breastfeeding, cause dental problems, and increase the risk of ear infections. It is recommended to introduce pacifiers to infants between 3-6 weeks old, but also to wean them off from pacifiers before their second birthday.
