What is panss?

PANSS stands for Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale. It is a measure used by doctors and clinicians to assess the symptoms of schizophrenia. PANSS evaluates 30 items, with each item assigning a score from 1 to 7 to assess the positive symptoms, negative symptoms, and general psychopathology of the patient. The scale was developed by Kay, Opler, and Fiszbein in 1987 and is widely used by psychiatrists and researchers to measure the severity of schizophrenia symptoms in clinical trials and research studies. PANSS provides clinicians with a reliable tool to monitor and assess the progress of patients receiving treatment for schizophrenia.
