What is paracycle?

Paracycling is a competitive sport for athletes with physical disabilities who ride a bicycle-like vehicle with adaptations that allow them to pedal using their hands and arms. The sport is governed by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), and is part of the Paralympic Games program. Paracycling events are categorized according to the type and degree of disability of the athletes, and include road races, time trials, and track cycling. The equipment used in paracycling is highly specialized, with handcycles, tandem bikes, and tricycles being the most common adaptations. Paracycling requires strong upper body strength, endurance, and good coordination, and is a great way for people with physical disabilities to stay active and compete at the highest level.
