What is parushurama?

Parashurama is considered as the sixth Avatar of Lord Vishnu in Hindu mythology.

He was born to the sage Jamadagni and his wife Renuka. He was a fierce warrior and is known for his exceptional skill with the axe, which is why he is also known as "Rama with the axe."

According to Hindu mythology, he has lived through several ages and has trained many warriors, including Bhishma, Drona, and Karna.

Parashurama is often depicted as a fierce, angry, and violent deity, who destroys evil and preserves the righteous. He is also known for his devotion to Lord Shiva.

Parashurama is also associated with various Hindu festivals and temples. During the festival of Navratri, the eighth day is dedicated to Parashurama, called Ashtami. There are several temples dedicated to him in India, such as the Parashurama temple in Kerala.
