Paul Hewson is better known by his stage name Bono, and is an Irish musician, singer, songwriter, and philanthropist. He was born on May 10, 1960 in Dublin, Ireland and is the lead vocalist and lyricist for the rock band U2. Bono has been active in the music industry since the 1970s and has received many awards and accolades for his contributions to music and charity work, including being nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2003. He has also been active in social justice and humanitarian causes, including the fight against poverty and the fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa.
