Pausias was a famous painter of the ancient Greek era, who lived in the 4th century BC. Many of his artworks depicted floral motifs and were known for their realistic representation of flowers and plants. Pausias was known to have used a unique technique called encaustic painting, which involved heating up wax to make it more malleable and easier to apply to a variety of surfaces. His works were highly sought after and were collected by several wealthy patrons and collectors of his time. Some of his most famous works include the "Flowers of Corinth" and the "Flowers of Caria". Despite being highly respected during his lifetime, much of his work has been lost or destroyed over time, and only a few fragments remain today.
