What is peeple?

Peeple is a peer-review app that allows users to leave reviews and ratings for other people they interact with in various aspects of their lives, such as friends, coworkers, or service providers. The app was founded in 2015 by two entrepreneurs, Julia Cordray and Nicole McCullough.

Peeple initially faced controversy and backlash for its potential negative impact on individuals' reputations and privacy, as well as concerns about cyberbullying and defamation. In response to the backlash, Peeple made changes to their app to allow users more control over their reviews and ratings.

The app allows users to search for others by name and leave reviews in three categories: personal, professional, and dating. Reviews can be positive, neutral, or negative, and users can choose whether to make their reviews public or private. Additionally, users have the option to dispute or report inappropriate reviews.

Overall, Peeple aims to create a platform for constructive feedback and recommendations, as well as promoting accountability and positivity in personal interactions.
