What is penile.raphe?

The penile raphe, also known as the midline ridge or frenulum, is a thin line of tissue that runs along the underside of the penis from the tip to the base. It is formed during fetal development and serves to stabilize the penis during erections and ejaculation. The tissue is sensitive and contains nerve endings, which can provide pleasurable sensations during sexual activity. In some cases, the penile raphe may be too short or tight, causing pain or discomfort during sex or difficulty with erections. This can be treated with surgery or other interventions.
