Periclymenus, also known as Periclymenos, was a mythological character from Greek mythology. He was the son of Neleus, the king of Pylos, and was one of the famous Argonauts who sailed with Jason in search of the Golden Fleece.
Periclymenus was gifted with the ability to transform himself into any creature he desired. According to the myth, he could change his size, shape, and even his gender. He could transform himself into a bird, a fish, or any animal that he wished. This power was given to him by his grandfather, the god Poseidon.
Periclymenus was a skilled warrior and fought bravely during the Trojan War. He was also a respected prophet and often gave advice to the kings and leaders of Greece. In some versions of the story, he was also believed to be a healer.
Despite his powers and accomplishments, Periclymenus met a tragic end. He was killed by the hero Hercules during the war between the gods and giants. Hercules had defeated the giants, but Periclymenus had managed to escape by transforming himself into a bird. Unfortunately for him, Hercules saw through his disguise and shot him down with an arrow.
Periclymenus remains a popular figure in Greek mythology, and his ability to transform himself into any creature has inspired many stories and legends throughout history.
