What is petecas?

Petecas (also known as jianzis, shuttlecocks or hacky sacks) are small objects used in a game that is similar to badminton. They have a conical shape with a feather or plastic skirt and a cork or rubber base. The goal of the game is to keep the peteca in the air by hitting it with various parts of the body, excluding the hands. Petecas are popular in Brazil and throughout South and Central America, where they are often used in informal, recreational settings such as beaches, parks or streets. They can also be used in organized competitions, either in singles or doubles format. In addition to being a fun and social activity, playing peteca can improve hand-eye coordination, balance, reflexes, and endurance.
