What is pluot?

Pluots are a hybrid fruit made from crossbreeding plums and apricots. They have a sweet and juicy flesh, similar to a plum, with a slightly tangy flavor, reminiscent of an apricot. Pluots come in a variety of colors, including red, purple, and yellow, and have a smooth skin. They are high in vitamin C, potassium, and fiber, and are low in calories. Pluots are typically in season from May to September and can be eaten fresh, used in baking or cooking, or made into jams and preserves. Some varieties of pluots include Dapple Dandy, Flavor Supreme, and Dino Egg.
