What is pps-43?

The PPS-43 (Pistolet-Pulemet Sudaeva, model of 1943) is a submachine gun designed in the Soviet Union during World War II. It was developed as a more simplified and cheaper alternative to the PPSh-41 submachine gun.

The PPS-43 features a stamped steel construction, which made it easier and quicker to produce than the PPSh-41. It has a folding metal buttstock, a 35-round detachable box magazine, and is chambered in the 7.62x25mm Tokarev cartridge.

The PPS-43 saw extensive use by Soviet forces during World War II and continued to be used in various conflicts around the world after the war. It was also produced under license in several countries, including Poland and China.

Despite its simple design, the PPS-43 was known for its reliability, ruggedness, and effectiveness in close-quarters combat. Today, it is a popular collectible among firearms enthusiasts and is still used by some military and paramilitary forces around the world.
