What is prt?

PRT stands for Personal Rapid Transit, a type of automated transportation system designed to provide on-demand individual trips within a local area. PRT systems consist of small, driverless electric vehicles that operate on dedicated guideways, which are like elevated tracks that allow the vehicles to travel without interruption from traffic or pedestrians. Passengers can request a trip using an app or a touch screen at a station, and the vehicle will take them directly to their destination. PRT is considered to be a sustainable mode of transportation because it is energy-efficient, emits low or zero emissions, and reduces traffic congestion and air pollution. However, PRT systems have not yet been widely implemented due to the high cost of building the infrastructure and maintaining the vehicles.
